How much does a website cost?
Websites start from £400. The final price depends on the size of the site and what it needs to do — a simple brochure site costs less than a larger site with e-commerce or custom features. You'll get a fixed price before any work starts, so there are no surprises. Tell me what you need for a quote.
Do I need an online store, or just a website?
Most businesses just need a website — a professional web presence that shows what you do and brings in enquiries. That's what I build for the majority of my clients. If you do want to sell online, I can build a Shopify or WooCommerce store too, but you don't need one to have a great website.
Should I use Shopify or WordPress?
It depends on what you're selling and how much you want to manage yourself. Shopify is the simplest route for most online stores — hosting, payments and security are handled for you. WordPress with WooCommerce gives more flexibility if you need custom features or already run a WordPress site. I'll recommend whichever fits your business, not whichever is easiest for me.
How long does a website take to build?
It depends on scope. A small site can be ready in a couple of weeks; a larger or e-commerce build takes longer. Because I build with current AI-assisted tooling, the turnaround is usually faster than a traditional agency — and I'll give you a realistic timeline before we start.
Do I own the website once it's built?
Yes. Once the project is paid for, the site and its content are yours — including the domain and hosting accounts, set up in your name. You're never locked in to me.
What happens after the site launches?
I don't disappear at launch. I'll make sure everything works across web and mobile, and I'm available for updates, changes and ongoing support whenever you need them.
Where are you based, and do you work outside Kent?
I'm based in Dover, Kent, and I work with businesses across the UK. Most of the process happens over email and calls, so location is rarely a barrier — I've delivered projects almost entirely remotely for years.
